Representing America

The stars and stripes are a symbol of the freedom of the United States of America.

America, the land of promise, was built by men and women seeking refuge from unjust systems of government. They formed their ideal government and it has stood longer than anyone expected. The reason for this is because America is a representative government. This means that we are the people making the decisions. We decide who best represents our standards and we vote them into office. Thanks to this representative government, America has survived for decades! But today I would like to make you aware of something that threatens the ability of the representative government.

Since we are the ones that are making decisions, it is our fault if the decisions are erroneous. America’s failures are our failures.

Next, I will ask you this question:
What is our responsibility as members of a representative nation?

As you reflect on that question, Logan Wilde, a Utah Representative stated, “Learn the facts and vote on the facts, not just the ideals.”

In conclusion, Chris Sauers a Veteran of the Vietnam war said, “Make sure you read up on your candidates and go and vote, get involved in your community.”
